Just ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance in L.A. Sunday, Snoop Dogg just closed on a deal that makes him owner of Death Row Records, the label that launched him. Snoop’s first album, Doggystyle, was released on Death Row Records in 1993 (yeah, that’s a lot longer ago than we care to admit, too…)
He bought the label from MNRK Music Group; the terms were not disclosed.
Snoop will be performing at halftime Sunday with longtime collaborator Dr. Dre, plus Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
