We’re back online!

About Us

HOT102Radio.com salutes the original HOT102, which so many still remember and love. It was owned at the time by the great Willie Davis; his company, All-Pro Broadcasting, owned several stations around the country. The station began as “Love FM” in the late 1970s on WLUM-FM (the calls stand for We Love U Milwaukee) and it became both “the HOT FM” and then “HOT102” during the 1980s. By 1994, changes in the market and music forced a switch to alternative. FM102.1 continues as a good alternative station in town, but we always missed the “Total Jams” HOT102 played. So, we brought it back!
We’re not affiliated with the company that currently owns the old frequency, but several of us worked for All-Pro back in the day – that’s why you hear some of the original jingles and more. We’ll keep building upon it and tweaking, we welcome your feedback (and sponsors!)

Major Bucks trade deal nets Damian Lillard, sends Jrue Holiday to Portland

The Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Phoenix Suns have announced a blockbuster trade deal that includes Damian Lillard joining the Bucks and sending local favorite Jrue Holiday to the Blazers. Grayson Allen will also be sent to the Phoenix Suns. Lillard will likely keep his dealership in Oregon, Damian Lillard Toyota (that’s just our guess.)

Here are the details of the three-way deal:

  • Bucks receive: Damian Lillard
  • Blazers receive: Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Bucks’ 2029 first-round pick (unprotected), swap rights on Bucks’ 2028 and 2030 picks
  • Suns receive: Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson

Portland is expected to trade Jrue Holiday to another team as Portland begins a rebuild around No. 3 pick Scoot Henderson.

Lillard is a seven-time All-Star who can provide the Bucks with tremendous spacing thanks to his long-range shooting; he’s consistently had to take difficult shots because of the personnel around him. He’ll join Giannis, who demands as much attention in the paint as any player in the league and regularly draws double and triple-teams on drives. This could serve a big part of Giannis’ expressed desire to compete directly for a championship again.

The Vegas oddsmakers have taken notice: the Bucks were +750 odds to win the NBA Championship before the trade was announced and now it’s at +375, at least with Caesars Sportsbook.

We’ll miss you, Jrue! Loved having you in Milwaukee and would love you back at some point. Welcome, Damian!

The legendary Tina Turner passes away; she was 83

The “Queen of Rock” died peacefully in Switzerland after battling a long illness

We’re very sad to report that the legendary rocker Tina Turner has passed away.

Turner, 83, was born Anna Mae Bullock in Alabama and led a hardscrabble life during childhood and early adulthood, rising to fame as a singer with Ike Turner, her abusive husband whom she abruptly left in 1976. Her career wasn’t able to find more solid ground until she re-emerged in 1984, sporting an eye-catching 80’s hair style and a new sound that fit perfectly within the era. Her album “Private Dancer” launched her career into the stratosphere; her first release from the album, “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” was a massive hit and it also became the name of her biopic.

Turner won six of her eight Grammy Awards in the 1980s. The decade saw her land a dozen songs on the Top 40, including “Typical Male,” “The Best,” “Private Dancer” and “Better Be Good to Me.” Her 1988 show in Rio de Janeiro drew 180,000 people, which remains one of the largest concert audiences for any single performer.

We’ll have extra Tina songs the rest of the day and this evening on HOT102.

Ray Allen goes back to school, gets Bachelors from UConn

The beloved Buck and 10-time NBA All-Star left UConn early, but went back to finish his degree

One of Milwaukee’s all-time favorite Bucks went back to school and just graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut, the alma mater he left early in 1996 to enter the NBA Draft – and Milwaukee snapped him up.

Allen participated in the commencement ceremony on the Storrs campus for the Class of 2023.

“I started my college career in September of 1993 and due to a few distractions along the way, I have officially completed my degree,” Allen posted to his Instagram account. “I’m so thankful for everyone in my life that encouraged me, and inspired me to continue to pursue my degree. What a lovely day it was!”

Allen played for the Bucks from 1996 to 2002, playing a key role as part of the “Big Three” along with Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson and Sam Cassell in 2001 when the Bucks went to the Eastern Conference Finals under coach George Karl. He went on to the Seattle SuperSonics, the Boston Celtics, and the Miami Heat, winning NBA Championships with those last two. We wish he’d gotten a ring while in Milwaukee.

But now he has his Bachelors. Congrats, Ray!

PRE-CONCERT PARTY at Wahlburgers Tuesday afternoon: Paul Wahlberg will be at the Wahlburgers location at 322 N. Broadway in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward from 4-8 on Tuesday to help celebrate! There will be a best-dressed fan contest, ’90s-themed trivia with prizes, ’90s board games, and a concert ticket giveaway! More details here.

“We had a blast out on the first MixTape Tour in 2019 and can’t wait to take it to another level with our fans on the MixTape Tour 2022,” Donnie Wahlberg said. “Just like a mixtape, these shows are going to take audiences through all the emotions. To be able to have Salt-N-Pepa come back and now also have the iconic and legendary Rick Astley and En Vogue join the tour… we could not be more excited. Let’s GO!”

The MixTape Tour 2022 is already shaping up to be a can’t miss night out where fHOT102 | Free Internet Radio | TuneIns can hear chart-topping hits and legendary catalogues spanning generations all night long. It follows the colossal commercial and critical success of NKOTB’s 2019 tour by the same name – their biggest since reuniting in 2008 – which grossed $53.2 million, sold more than 650,000 tickets and pioneered a super-sized show each night with multiple acts (Salt-N-Pepa, Tiffany, Naughty By Nature and Debbie Gibson) hitting the stage and reimagining what a special guest on a tour could look like.

NKOTB will hit the stage on the MixTape Tour 2022 to perform fan favorite #1 hits like “Hangin’ Tough,” “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” and “Step By Step” while tour mates Salt-N-Pepa (“Push It,” “Shoop,” “Whatta Man”), Rick Astley (“Never Gonna Give You Up,” “Together Forever”) and En Vogue (“Don’t Let Go [Love],” “Free Your Mind,” “Give It Up, Turn It Loose,” “Hold On”) keep the party going with music that catapulted them to stardom and solidified their places in music history.

In 2021, Salt-N-Pepa received a Lifetime Achievement Award. 2022 will kick up with Salt-N-Pepa dedicating their Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Over the past two years, Rick Astley has amassed two million YouTube followers with a series of covers from his studio and become a major force on TikTok with 1.7 million followers. “Never Gonna Give You Up” was recently featured on the critically acclaimed series Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ and its video has been viewed more than 1 billion times.

En Vogue celebrated the 30th anniversary of their first album Born To Sing on April 3, 2020, when it was reissued on Rhino Records, closed out the 2020 Billboard Music Awards with a performance of “Free Your Mind,” and launched their Funky Divas podcast. In March, they appeared with Salt-N-Pepa in Coming 2 America for a show-stopping performance of their hit song “Whatta Man” that was aptly titled “Whatta King” and was featured on the film’s soundtrack. In 2018, they released their album Electric Café, with a top 10 single (“Rocket”). Recent collaborations have included Snoop Dogg, Raphael Saadiq and Chance the Rapper.

HOT102 plays all these favorites and more, warm up for the show with your favorite old school jams by listening on TuneIn, Live365, and more! Or stream us right now here:
